Looking out into it the universe at night, we make no comparisons between right and wrong stars, nor between well and badly arranged constellations.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">A\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #1a4ef2;\"><a style=\"color: #1a4ef2;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/photo-expeditions-workshops\/photo-expeditions\" target=\"_blank\">Photo Expedition<\/a><\/span>\u00a0to shoot one of the most beautiful and seldom witnessed natural wonders \u00a0 <a class=\"ed\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dariatelecom.ro\/%ec%9e%85%ea%b8%88%ed%99%95%ec%9d%b8%ec%a6%9d-%eb%8b%a4%ec%9a%b4%eb%a1%9c%eb%93%9c\/\">your deposit confirmation<\/a>!<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/Shooting-Stars-Time-Lapse.gif\" rel=\"lightbox[9469]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9470\" src=\"https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/Shooting-Stars-Time-Lapse.gif\" alt=\"Shooting Stars Gemenids\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>A Time Lapse image showing the meteors striking through the clear winter sky of BRT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A dream which has been constantly with me for the last 4 years was one of making an image of a meteor shower at night <a class=\"ed\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adpm.com.br\/2020\/02\/07\/%ec%96%b4%eb%a6%b0-%ec%99%95%ec%9e%90-%eb%8b%a4%ec%9a%b4%eb%a1%9c%eb%93%9c\/\">\uc5b4\ub9b0 \uc655\uc790 \ub2e4\uc6b4\ub85c\ub4dc<\/a>. Images of this sort are hard to come-by and I have seen very few landscape images depicting a meteor shower in its full glory. With no such images from the Indian Subcontinent I knew it would not be easy making my image <a class=\"ed\" href=\"http:\/\/lindsayslist.co\/2020\/02\/%ec%97%98-%ec%ba%90%ed%94%bc%ed%83%84-%eb%8b%a4%ec%9a%b4%eb%a1%9c%eb%93%9c\/\">El Capitan download<\/a>. I spent countless hours planning my shots and working out the correct technique, but most of these ended in failures. However with each failed attempt I learned something new, and this knowledge eventually helped me draw up my strategy <a class=\"ed\" href=\"http:\/\/expocajas.com.co\/%ed%95%9c%ec%bb%b4%ec%98%a4%ed%94%bc%ec%8a%a4-neo-%ed%95%9c%ea%b8%80-%eb%8b%a4%ec%9a%b4%eb%a1%9c%eb%93%9c\/\">Hancom Office neo Hangul<\/a>. My goal here was to showcase the beauty of a meteor shower and also present it in a way as it was not seen before.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/Anti-poaching-camp.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[9469]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/Anti-poaching-camp.jpg\" alt=\"Anti-poaching camp - Jodigere\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/Anti-poaching-camp.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/Anti-poaching-camp-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>The Anti Poaching Camp in Jodigere was our base camp for two nights, and was literally in the middle of nowhere, adding to the thrill of our expedition<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Defining the variables involved in making this image evolved over time, and some of the key variables were:<\/p>\n<p>[check_list]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Location<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 It had to be far from human habitation to avoid light pollution, but also be easily accessible to enable easy co-ordination of the logistics<\/li>\n<li><strong>Season<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Meteor showers happen throughout the year, but not all are optimum for viewing as we have cloud cover for 10 months in a year in my part of the world<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lunar phase<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Having a full moon can be detrimental to viewing and photographing a meteor shower as the bright moonlight can washout faint meteors<\/li>\n<li><strong>Equipment<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Having a \u201cfast wide angle\u201d lens coupled with a high ISO performing camera, to capture all available light and generate minimum noise while doing so<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/check_list]<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/BRT_Sunset.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[9469]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9481\" src=\"https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/BRT_Sunset.jpg\" alt=\"BRT Sunset\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/BRT_Sunset.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/BRT_Sunset-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u00a0BRT was an ideal location for the shoot given its lack of Light Pollution and its scenic potential<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The hunt to find the perfect\u00a0location started after\u00a0I zeroed in on the Geminids\u00a0Meteor showers, which\u00a0happens in December each\u00a0year <a class=\"ed\" href=\"http:\/\/thesenatorhotel.com\/%ea%b5%ad%eb%af%bc-%ec%b2%b4%ec%a1%b0-%eb%8b%a4%ec%9a%b4%eb%a1%9c%eb%93%9c\/\">National Gymnastics<\/a>. The shower in 2012\u00a0was slated to happen during\u00a0a new moon, and also since\u00a0it was in December there\u00a0was a greater probability\u00a0of having clear nights.\u00a0This meant I would have\u00a0perfect shooting conditions\u00a0if the weather co-operated.\u00a0I chose the Jodigere APC\u00a0deep inside BRT Tiger\u00a0Reserve for my shoot site,\u00a0as during my earlier visits\u00a0I noticed the potential\u00a0of the place <a class=\"ed\" href=\"http:\/\/www.s6001104-24303.home-whs.pl\/maxrem.pl\/%eb%8c%80%eb%b2%95%ec%9b%90-%ec%96%91%ec%8b%9d-%eb%8b%a4%ec%9a%b4%eb%a1%9c%eb%93%9c\/\">Supreme Court form<\/a>. It had good visibility to the east, allowing me to see the showers radiating from the constellation Gemini as it rised. It was also far from human habitation to minimise light pollution <a class=\"ed\" href=\"https:\/\/www.albrechtmachinery.co.za\/%ed%95%b8%eb%93%9c%ed%8f%b0-%ec%82%ac%ec%a7%84-%eb%8b%a4%ec%9a%b4%eb%a1%9c%eb%93%9c\/\">your cell phone photo<\/a>. Best of all it had interesting foregrounds in the form of rocks to anchor the shot for a perfect composition.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/The-Lakes.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[9469]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9483\" src=\"https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/The-Lakes.jpg\" alt=\"The Lakes BRT Jodigere\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/The-Lakes.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/The-Lakes-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>We were stationed near the famous twin lakes of Jodigere, which means &#8220;Twin lakes&#8221; after the two lakes present in the area<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With all these in mind and with the necessary permissions in place, I set out with my wife Siri to fulfil the quest for my meteor shower image <a class=\"ed\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.anscommerce.com\/?p=4261\">Sandolgothic Neo1<\/a>. To my relief I found all the conditions at the shoot sight ideal except for the bone chilling gale force winds which I did not anticipate. All that was now required was a good warm jacket and for the fire balls to put on a show <a class=\"ed\" href=\"https:\/\/www.icv.org.br\/2020\/02\/08\/%eb%a8%bc%eb%8d%b0%ec%9d%b4-%eb%8b%a4%ec%9a%b4%eb%a1%9c%eb%93%9c\/\">\uba3c\ub370\uc774 \ub2e4\uc6b4\ub85c\ub4dc<\/a>. And they did! On the two nights I spent in Jodigere photographing the event, I could see several meteors streaking through the sky. They came in a multitude of colours and brightness, and it was the most spectacular fire work display I have ever seen! The winds through the night were however a major deterrent and we had to restrict our viewing to a few minutes every time we went out of our camp. Luckily the camera was set on a rock solid tripod and it kept the setup from flying off.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/High-Up-In-The-Hills.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[9469]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9485\" src=\"https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/High-Up-In-The-Hills.jpg\" alt=\"High Up In The Hills - BRT\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/High-Up-In-The-Hills.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/High-Up-In-The-Hills-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>High up in the hills, the air in BRT is clear and clean<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jodigere-Anti-poaching-camp.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[9469]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9486\" src=\"https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jodigere-Anti-poaching-camp.jpg\" alt=\"Forest Guards - Jodigere\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jodigere-Anti-poaching-camp.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.landscape-wizards.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jodigere-Anti-poaching-camp-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>The forest guards in Jodigere were ever so helpful, without whose support I could not have succeeded on this mission<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Luckily I achieved what I went for, and the dream I had been chasing for four years was finally accomplished. The support from the department was indispensable and in particular I would like to call out our Driver Ramu and the Forest watcher Vishwanath from the Jodigere camp who were forever obliging and supportive of my needs. Mr Vijay Mohan Raj, Director of BRT was kind enough to ensure all my permits and logistics were taken care of.
