Now for some news on team upgrade. Landscape Wizards is very excited to welcome Sriharsha Ganjam as our new team member. Harsha's vision will without a doubt add a lot of strength and creativity to the team. This completes our upgrade to 5 members; we do not anticipate adding further members in the near future.

One needs to see nature with the mind’s eye! And this is one thing that he truly believes in. He is also an avid star gazer and finds deep spirituality when gazing in to the stars on clear winter nights. He also joins us with a immense knowledge of Timelapse photography which he is very good at.

With his introduction we present to all the viewers of Landscape Wizards, the following article - Landscape Photography – Some common myths and some uncommon realities - penned by Harsha himself. Over the coming days you will get to see more images flowing in from Harsha's kitty.

If you are a regular reader of Landscape Wizards, you will be knowing that Ashwini is a fellow photographer on the board of Landscape Wizards and is known for his unique compositions. He has a fantastic eye for patterns in landscape as recognized by others in the team and he has proved it by getting second runner up in the photo competition which was part of 5th international Canopy Conference that was held in Bangalore recently. The theme of the competition was "Canopy – the last biotic frontier".

Team Wizards congratulates Ashwini Kumar Bhat for his success in Canopy 2009 photo competition and wishes many more accolades to Ashwini in future.

Landscape Wizards is proud to announce a new section called "Expert Speak". This section will feature some of the best names in the Landscape Photography genre and they will be with us to share their experiences, learnings and techniques.

We would be starting off our section with the inclusion of Ganesh H Shankar into our "Expert Speak" section. Ganesh H Shankar is a popular name across India and international nature photography forums. Ganesh joins us with his vast experience dating back to the film and slide era. Ganesh's signature style of using light and shadow creatively makes him stand out prominently from rest of the crowd. He has also been recognised with various honours both in India and abroad. This is something we wanted to incorporate in our website since sometime now. We make hundreds of images in the field and every image has a definite thought behind it. Every time, we look at images made by others, we always think as to what the real thought was behind such an image - be it composition, be it the subject or framing. With the introduction of landscape wizards journal we will be regularly bringing you some fantastic thoughts behind every image that we make. It's our pleasure to know your thoughts too !

It's been exactly one year since Landscape Wizards was born. We are delighted to say that we have done tremendous progress in last one year and we have more plans for months to follow. It's been great pleasure for all of us at LW interacting with the larger nature photography community and we have got some great positive feedbacks.

We take this opportunity to be more organized in terms of our site updates going forward. On the same note, starting October 2009 we have decided to release desktop calenders every month, created using some good quality images shot by our team members. We at landscape wizards, are more than happy to give back some refreshing images for the nature loving community to have it on their desktops/laptops as wallpapers! You can download them from our Resources page.

Our core team member Shivakumar Narayan will be back from his trip to Higher himalayas, mainly Ladakh region ( Jammu and Kashmir, India ) in couple of days.
